Last (rather gray and damp) weekend there were coffee shops …
… and cup cakes.
In addition to showing me a bit of the city, and stopping for treats, my friends showed me their new libraries.
Because I am a nerd, this is better than a trip to Disneyland. First, the recently opened branch of the Cedar Rapids Public Library. There’s some seriously fab seating in the children’s area. At least if you like elephants. Which I do.
Even better — the work in progress that will be the new downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library. A glimpse of the exterior:
