A Room with a View

The latest pursuit of learning takes me to the University of Virginia’s Rare Book School. I wound up with a room in what I refer to as the historic district, though it has an official campus name that I’ve already forgotten.

For a room without air conditioning or a bath of its own, it’s pretty impressive when it comes to ambience. This is my own view …

which I must admit is not necessarily unique.

It’s got a fireplace,

a rocker,

and once had a mail slot.

It was supposed to be a short-term arrangement, but I may stay on as balm for the other decision I’ve made, to catapult myself into the 21at century by attending a seminar on born-digital materials.

Not that there’s not plenty of other historicalness around. Curving brick walls

And so on …

and so on ….
