I’m Not There

My next post was to be from Philadelphia, scene of a national conference in the coming days. The latest winter storm, however, has at least temporarily shelved my plans.

For now, more stark, Midwestern wintery scenes, done in silhouette, like the profiles my second-grade teacher once made by tracing the shadowed profiles of every student in her class. My technique is a bit simpler and less time-consuming.

In the middle, the long-suffering magnolia. In my mind, the recurring question about whether it will survive. It’s meant to be here, per the temperature range for this variety, but barely.
